As Yellowcard Returns, LP3 Fights for His Health
The drummer behind their best work is sidelined by a life-threatening infection. Let’s show up the way this scene always has.
Yellowcard just announced Better Days, their first full-length in nearly a decade, out October 10. The video is super-funny, and Blink-182’s Travis Barker’s on drums and exec production. Two new tracks are already out: the title track and honestly i. I’ve seen them twice in the last 2.5 years, and they are just kicking ass. Ryan and Sean especially sound great.
But while the band moves into its next chapter, Longineu Parsons III (LP3) — the drummer who played on all of Yellowcard’s defining work, like “Ocean Avenue” — is fighting through a life-threatening dental infection. He’s out of work and urgently needs surgery.
I came up in the punk scene, and promoted over 100 punk and hardcore shows. My college housemate currently manages some of the largest punk bands in the world.
🆘 Rally for Longineu Parsons III Medical Relief
If punk taught us anything, it’s that we don’t abandon our own. If you’ve ever moshed to Ocean Avenue or cut your teeth in a DIY scene, consider showing up for LP3 now. If you can’t donate right now, just share this link.
