šŸŽ Holiday Gift Guide: Because LPs Aren’t the Only Ones You Need to Impress

Let’s be honest—I’m the guy who named his investor-focused LP services company Lead Zeppelin, so you know what kind of ride you’re in for here. I’ve never written a holiday gift guide in my life. That said, there are some real gems in here, especially in the ā€œyoung men’sā€ section at the end of the article. I wish I’d read stuff like this when I was 23. I would have been way better dressed, that’s for sure.

To make sure this gift guide isn’t just fun but actually usable, I teamed up with one of my favorite people and go-to foodie and apparel expert, Amanda Scheer.

Amanda’s background includes time at BlockFi, One King’s Lane, and other standout startups, where she’s honed her skills in data and operations. If you happen to be on the hunt for a brilliant ops team member, she’s one of the sharpest (and funniest) people I know. And she knows how to pick out gifts that women really love. So read on, and enjoy some gift picks that your LPs, friends and family will actually enjoy. But keep the gift receipt, just in case.

For Mature Men (Who’ve Earned Their Midlife Crisis)

  1. 1976 by Thin Lizzy: For rock fans, this might just be the definitive box set of the year. Thin Lizzy: 1976 captures the band at their peak, a raw, electrifying snapshot of one of the greatest live acts in rock history. It’s remastered in Atmos and includes live sessions and unreleased tracks. The acoustic version of ā€œFight or Fallā€ alone makes it worth it. My favorite gift of the year, by a longshot. Stream it here.

  1. Burning Barbershop: Burning Barbershop by D.S. & Durga. This isn’t your standard clean shave. Inspired by a NYC barbershop fire in 1891, the scent mixes lavender, spearmint, and burnt oil—smoky, fresh, and rebellious. A bold choice for anyone who loves conversation-starting cologne.

  2. How To Cook Everything: If he’s over 35 and still doesn’t know his way around the kitchen, this book is a lifesaver. Mark Bittman teaches you how to make solid meals (under 30 minutes) and shop like a pro—surprisingly fun to learn.

  3. Waterpik Aquarius Flosser: Flossing stinks. This water flosser doesn’t. Full power, full tank, zero excuses.

  4. Bike Helmet: The Giro Aries Spherical Helmet is one of the best on the market. If you want to keep your buddy or dude safe, this is the one to look at.

For Mature Women Who’ve Seen It All

  1. Weighted vest
Because inner peace weighs about 20 lbs these days.

  1. High End Candle
A flickering work of art that smells like summer memories—perfect for surviving winter’s slushy prison.

  1. Allison Roman ā€˜zine
The NYT contributor and bestselling author’s passion project. Remember ā€˜zines? Before blogs came along and ruined everything?
